He completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the National University of Singapore, 1981.
He did his MDS primary examination in 1982.
He did specialist training at the Institute of Dental Surgery, Eastman Dental Hospital, London; graduated with M.Sc. in Restorative Dentistry (London) in 1984.
He was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine in 1998.
He has been involved in Implant Dentistry since 1991 under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. George H. Nentwig, University of Frankfurt, Germany.
He was Conferred FAMS (Prosthodontics) by the Academy of Medicine in 2003.
He was awarded a Certificate in Oral Implantology (with Distinction) from the University of Frankfurt, Germany, in 2003.
He was conferred a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists with certification in both Implant Surgery and Implant Prosthetics.
He is an active member of ITI (International Team for Implantology).
