It is a surgical procedure where the doctors band away a portion of the patient’s stomach to reduce the size of the stomach. A silicon band is tied around a part of the stomach to reduce the size of the stomach. The reduction in the size of the stomach enables the patient to ingest less quantity of food which results in less nutrient absorption by the body. This gradually leads to the patient losing weight and getting healthier.
